Kristin Bemelmans (aka Bemel) paints the way she lives: colourfully, freely and with wholehearted commitment. Her works are anything but conventional. She paints in reverse on the back of Plexiglas, without seeing the result.

“In a world where so many conditions have to be met, painting in reverse on Plexiglass gives me an unprecedented sense of freedom. My unique way of painting teaches me to let go of what my mind wants to control. 

I hope to inspire people to show the world their true colours. Authenticity is something I hold in high regard.

My most important message is this: in life, there is nothing to lose, only more to love.
