MYRIAM BOONEN
I am Myriam Boonen, living in Sint-Truiden but originally from Geetbets. Ever since childhood, I have been interested in learning with my fingers. In the attic, I taught my dolls using a writing board and chairs. I have always been creatively busy, knitting, crocheting, drawing, and making works of art. Because drawing was my passion, I attended art school in Hasselt for two years, focusing especially on portraiture.
In 1990, I graduated in Diest as a nursery teacher and began working in education. Eventually, I ended up in the smallest kindergarten in Hageland, Ransberg, where I gained sufficient experience to become a manager. After 24 years of teaching, I decided to take a completely different turn in my life and became an assistant in my husband's veterinary practice.
I enjoy taking care of dogs and have nurtured a passion for turning ceramics into plates, cups, dishes, and even small coastal works. At home, I have my own studio where I can relax while creating new, colorful ceramics for people. It makes me happy to see other people happy with my creations.
